Mila: The Beginning of an Unexpected Romance
A short but intense romance with Lena remained part of my history. Everyday life continued.
I stopped working at the Turkish shop and moved to a Russian store, which I eventually planned to buy out and turn into a Ukrainian one. The shop needed advertising in a Ukrainian public group, and I remembered the owner of that group – Mila. (We had already met in the refugee camp.)
We had also crossed paths in the city once. I caught up with her car on my motorcycle and sang her a Ukrainian song, but we immediately went our separate way
